Tribute to one of the greatest radio stations in the history of broadcasting, WNEW 1130 AM in New York City. WNEW was the home of the "Make Believe Ballroom" and "Milkman's Matinee". The station played American Popular Standards and had such legendary DJ's as William B. Williams, Ted Brown and Jim Lowe to name just a few. It also had one of the best radio news departments in broadcasting.

This show has my interview with WNEW personality Jim Lowe and news reporter Mike Eisgrau who talks about covering Woodstock in 1969 for the station. You'll hear a portion of William B. Williams interview with Frank Sinatra in 1986, airchecks of legendary morning man Gene Klavan, DJ, Pete Myers and the very hip Al "Jazzbo" Collins telling one of his famous fables from the "Purple Grotto". You'll also hear some of the famous WNEW jingles and the final minutes of WNEW's broadcast before going all-talk in 1992 hosted by Mark Simone.
